PERSONALITY
Kaori is the true definition of a girly girl. She loves all things pink, cuddly and sweets and is terrified of bugs. She is really friendly but is extremely shy and has a hard time approaching people. She has a few friends that she's managed to make but none of them she initiated. Despite that, Kaori is very artsy. She loves drawing and painting, though whether or not she's actually any good at it is up for debate. It's a wonder how she has been allowed to stay in the art club. They say she is a lot better than she thinks but she is her biggest critic. When she isn't doing that much she spends a lot of time outside, despite her hatred of bugs. She loves making floral arrangements, though nobody ever sees them. She has a small love of photography, but it's usually just to take reference pictures for her to paint later.
Kaori has a bit of a stubborn streak as well. Once she's made up her mind about something, it is very hard to get her to change it. On top of that she can be a bit of a sore loser. For that reason, and that fact that she is horribly clumsy, she stays away from sports and all competition. Her temper however small it is comes out full force. If it weren't so adorable it would be scary.

HISTORY
Kaori had a pretty easy upbringing. She was born in Aomori as the second born, her older brother having been born three years before her. From a young age she was surrounded by flowers and paintings, her mother being a well known florist in town, owning her own shop. Her father was known for travelling the world selling and showcasing his works of art. Everything was peaceful until a little after Kaori turned five. Her father was supposed to return home from a trip to Europe, and he was several days late. The family assumed he got held back, when they received news that the plane he was on crashed and they couldn't find any bodies. While her brother and mother took the death hard, it was even harder with a five-year-old Kaori not quite understanding why daddy wouldn't be coming home.
When she finally did realize what it meant it devastated her. For several weeks she refused to talk to anyone, keeping herself isolated until her brother gave her their father’s old drawing tools and suggested she used them. She'd always been close to her father, and in order to keep that connected she threw herself into drawing and painting. It put a small strain on her and her mother’s relationship since she spent so much time locked into her room, often drawing or painting for days on end without coming out. It wasn’t until her brother mentioned it to her that she realized anything. Kaori began going with her mother to the shop a few times a week after school, and developed a love of flowers while helping. Her primary love would always be the arts but she loved her newfound way of bonding with her mother, and while their relationship isn’t perfect it is getting better.
While she doesn't feel she's anywhere near the skill her father was at, she practices hard every day, and when she entered high school she immediately joined the Art Club in order to better further her craft. And also to escape the shadow of her brother, who is a third year at the school and part of the Archery Club. As silly as it is she tries her hardest to avoid him, though she knows that if anything were to ever happen she could go to him. Not that anyone would be stupid enough to mess with her knowing who her brother is.
